At Associated Family Physicians, compassionate care starts with the people behind it. With over 40 years of experience delivering patient-centered, senior-focused medical care, we’ve recently expanded our reach to serve more individuals and families across Bradenton, Hollywood and Boca Raton.

Dr. Jean – Joseph G. Rendel DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Jean Rendel holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Florida Atlantic University and a post-graduate degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health from Wilkes University. Recognized with multiple FAU Scholar Awards, Dr. Rendel is both a Family and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He combines clinical research with compassionate, person-centered care focused on prevention, wellness, and long-term patient satisfaction.
Nessrene Doudar
APRN
Nessrene Doudar, APRN is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with a strong foundation in internal medicine, primary care, and preventive health, along with a specialized focus in medical weight management, wellness, and longevity care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern California, where she developed an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to care. With extensive experience in high-volume clinical settings, Nessrene has managed a wide range of acute and chronic conditions while overseeing diagnostics, treatment planning, and continuity of care.
Maya Sachs
APRN
Maya Sachs, APRN is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and South Florida native dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, specializing in Family Medicine. Maya brings a diverse clinical background with experience in wellness care, including hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapy, and medical weight loss. She has a particular passion for hormone optimization and menopause care, helping patients feel their best at every stage of life. She is also a certified Nurse Practitioner injector, specializing in neurotoxin and dermal filler treatments.
Dr. Derek Vigil

Derek Vigil, MD is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with over 25 years of experience in primary care. He earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his Family Practice residency at West Jersey Health Systems in New Jersey. Dr. Vigil has spent the majority of his career serving patients in South Florida, providing comprehensive primary care with a focus on prevention, chronic disease management, and long-term patient relationships. His extensive clinical experience spans a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, allowing him to deliver thoughtful, individualized care to each patient.
Dr. Michelle Wilson

Board Certified in Family Medicine since 2024.

Dr. Michelle Wilson received her medical degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton in 2021. She completed her Family Medicine residency at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital program in Albany, Georgia, from 2021 to 2024. Dr. Wilson focuses on comprehensive, patient-centered primary care.
Samantha L. Burstell DNP, FNP-BC
Board Certified Nurse Practitioner since 2017.

Dr. Selly Wolkovl MD
Selly Wolkov, MD is a highly experienced physician with decades of experience in family medicine and patient care. He earned his medical degree from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark and is board-certified in Family Practice in both the United Kingdom and Denmark. Dr. Wolkov has been licensed to practice in multiple states, including Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey. Throughout his career, he has cared for a wide range of patient populations and has extensive experience in both outpatient and hospital settings, having served on active staff at Divine Providence Hospital and Jersey Shore Hospital in Pennsylvania. He also holds certification in advanced life support training, including ACLS and ATLS.

Grisel Anido Alvarez, APRN
Grisel Anido Alvarez, APRN is a highly experienced healthcare provider with over 30 years of clinical expertise in internal medicine, primary care, and urgent care. Originally trained as a physician in Cuba, she earned her medical degree and completed her specialization in Internal Medicine at the Superior Medical Sciences Institute in Havana. After relocating to the United States, Grisel continued her medical career by obtaining her Associate Degree in Nursing and later her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Miami Regional University. Her diverse training and international medical background provide her with a well-rounded and comprehensive approach to patient care. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Grisel is dedicated to serving diverse communities and ensuring clear, effective communication to support the best possible health outcomes.
